Heat pump and solar installer | Digital PR case study
In seven months, digital PR helped take Green Building Renewables from a handful of page-one rankings to 66 top-3 positions on Google, and put the brand in front of homeowners and landlords across the UK.
The challenge
Green Building Renewables (now rebranded to 21 degres) was a fast-growing heat pump and solar installer in a market full of confused consumers. Homeowners were facing soaring energy bills, new government grants and a lot of conflicting advice about heat pumps. The business needed to be seen as a trusted, expert voice, and it needed authoritative backlinks to compete in search.
The approach
I built a PR programme around the questions homeowners and landlords were already asking:
- Consumer explainers that cut through the confusion, including a guide to the Boiler Upgrade Scheme and how to check eligibility
- Expert commentary for homes titles on heating systems, solar and renovation
- A landlord survey revealing that six in ten landlords would rather sell than make their properties energy efficient
- Creative lifestyle content, such as the world’s most beautiful solar farms you can visit, to reach audiences beyond the property pages
- Timely hooks tied to energy price rises and government policy
